Our Lady of Međugorje (also named Queen of Peace) is the title given to the Blessed Virgin Mary by those who believe that she appeared to six Herzegovinian Croat children in Međugorje, Bosnia and Herzegovina (at the time in Republic of Yugoslavia).

Since 1981, in a small village in Bosnia-Hercegovina named Medjugorje, the Blessed Virgin Mary has been appearing and giving messages to the world. Since the apparitions began, millions of people from all over the world, have visited Medjugorje and have left spiritually strengthened and renewed.

Our Ladys Messages of Peace and Love are meant to guide each one of us to a closer relationship with God. Our Lady has appeared in Medjugorje every day since June 24, 1981 to present. After 28+ years, Our Lady still appears to 3 of the visionaries daily.

"I have come to tell the world that God exists. He is the fullness of life, and to enjoy this fullness and peace, you must return to God"

"Dear children, this is the reason for my presence among you for such a long time: to lead you on the path of Jesus. I want to save you and, through you, to save the whole world. Many people now live without faith; some don’t even want to hear about Jesus, but they still want peace and satisfaction! Children, here is the reason why I need your prayer: prayer is the only way to save the human race." (July 30, 1987)

Official position of the Holy See

The messages attributed to Our Lady of Međugorje have a very strong following among certain Catholics. The Holy See has never officially either approved or disapproved of the messages of Međugorje, although both critical and supportive documents about the messages have been published by various Catholic figures: a selection of these messages are included in this app!

A new ruling or directive about Međugorje may be coming soon from the Vatican: on March 17, 2010, the Vatican announced it was beginning a formal investigation of the apparitions at Medugorje. Cardinal Camillo Ruini is to head the commission that will study the matter.

The Roman Catholic Church has declared that it cannot be affirmed that the reported apparitions are supernatural in character (the declaration is also included in the App). Individual Catholics are allowed to travel to Međugorje and are entitled to spiritual care there.
